52 Weeks of Life Seen Through My Eyes

Ida's Photo Theme Challenge

50. Urban Scenery

My final hurrah for the 2014-15 Theme Challenge found me in the small town of Boquete, looking for something that could provide a teeny taste of “urban” life in this mountainous Central American locale. I opted to begin on the outskirts with a shot taken from across the Caldera River which reveals a glimpse of the Catholic Church twin towers, the surrounding mountains, and the lush greenery; then to take a quick walk through town for a closer look at a few scenes, human and man-made, and end on Avenida Central looking toward the church and those beautiful mountains.

  4. Great shots Ida. It reminds me of a small town in Cost Rica I stayed in back in 1990. They too loved colorful buildings. Really like the B&W of the man selling the bananas.

    • I am so delighted you enjoyed seeing the Boquete area and Panama through my eyes, Carolyn. It was a very challenging year for me, but it’s done and hopefully I can stay on top of things in the year ahead. I’ve really enjoyed seeing what others are doing, you included, but often only looked at the blogs through my emails without taking the time to comment. My goal is to do better in 2015-16. πŸ™‚

  6. Yes, this is definitely your urban scenery. Interesting photos and the b/w of the man is a nice character study. (We went to Puerto Rico one year and my husband had a great shot of an old man selling bananas. ) It reminded me of that image. Yea for us all as the themes are complete!

  7. Congratulations! Whew!! It’s been a busy 8 plus weeks for us but we did it.
I enjoyed the colored shot of the barber shop then the black and white of him cutting someones hair. Can’t wait to see what the new year will bring in themes to be looking for and shot.

    • Karen, I have to be honest with you. For some reason I haven’t been able to get your posts through emails, so without the reminder, I have not been very good about checking out your posts, but have enjoyed what I have seen. Have you not received the new themes. If not, I’ll forward them to you. Let me know. As for the barber shots, it was thanks to my wonderful assistant, Paul, who noticed him! πŸ™‚

  8. Would you forward them to me….
