While walking around my yard this evening, drinking in the beauty of the mountains and the sunset reflected on the ever-changing clouds, I was madly snapping photos of the gorgeous vistas I am privileged to see every day. I happened to notice a couple of drops of water still hanging tentatively from a branch after a rain shower some time earlier. Although I wasn’t certain how the photos would turn out, who cares when you can simply delete unwanted photo-flops? Having nothing to lose, I took a few. When I showed my husband all the pictures I had taken during the evening before the bugs became too interested in chewing me up, he grew most exuberant about these ones, a couple of drops of water.

Cool Ida! Do you know the kind of tree that the drips are hanging from? The bark reminds me of those really tall trees along the road up to the cemetery in Boquete. Remember? Near that water place that we found all the giant leaves… I love that multi colored bark…

Naturally I don’t know the name of the tree! I guess I could attempt to find out. I could take a photo of both trees when Paul has a chance to take me for a photo hunt. I think I remember which trees you’re referring to. 🙂

Yesterday I saw the tree Mindy was referring to. I really wanted to stop, but that would have made us late for a date. The bark was totally gorgeous. We’ll stop another time.

That variegated bark reminds me of the Leopard Tree in SA, just a different colour!
